Kingstown

You might like to call into the Kingstown Store for an icecream, or a swim in the McDonald River at Retreat, before heading home or continue wandering the back roads from Retreat to Torryburn or other lovely bush roads.

Bundarra

Camp on the banks of the Gwydir River, home to platypus and the endangered Regent Honeyeater or at lovely local B&Bs. Bundarra has lovely small town charm and plenty to keep you interested. Have lunch at the Commerical Hotel or Pink Flamingo Cafe before an afternoon of bird watching or enjoying the heritage listed Police Station or Bottle Museum.

Kentucky

10kms south of Uralla & 3kms off the highway is the historic village of Kentucky, established as soldier settlement blocks after WW1 & sending orchard produce to market by train. The creative community has a general store and cafe, a much loved Memorial Hall with historic photo collection, hosting quarterly old time dances. It's also home to the international award winning Dobson's Distillery!
